Biographical Sketch

Updated requirements since 1/25/22 include the following:

  • Personal statement section updated to include ongoing and completed research projects in the past 3 years

  • Research Support section removed

  • Scientific Appointments specifically named as a position to be included

  • List all positions and scientific appointments in reverse chronological order

Other Support

Includes the following:

  • Primary Place of Performance (institution name, city/state)

  • In-kind contributions listed separately from funded projects and must include estimates for time commitment and monetary value (all external sources of funding, including donations and other sponsored awards)

  • Person Months (even if unsalaried) for the current budget period and indicate the proposed level effort for each remaining budget period

Attestation: Include the following statement at the end of the Other Support page: I, PD/PI or other senior/key personnel, certify that the statements herein are true, complete and accurate to the best of my knowledge, and accept the obligation to comply with Public Health Services terms and conditions if a grant is awarded as a result of this application. I am aware that any false, fictitious, or fraudulent statements or claims may subject me to criminal, civil, or administrative penalties.

Certification: Each Program Director/Principal Investigator or Other Senior/Key Personnel must electronically sign their respective Other Support pages after the statement noted above prior to submission to certify that the information is accurate and complete.

Documentation of Foreign Activities and Resources: If Other Support pages include foreign activities and resources, copies of any corresponding contracts, grants, and other agreements must be appended to the Other Support page. If they are not in English, translations must be provided.

Immediate Notification of Changes (via SPA): Changes to and undisclosed Other Support information outside of Just-in-Time or the RPPR must be updated and/or disclosed immediately to NIH.

eRA Commons

  • All individuals listed on the R&R Senior/Key Person Profile Form must have an eRA Commons username (Commons ID).

Principal Investigators and Other Senior/Key Personnel listed on NIH proposals and awards should contact Sponsored Programs Administration at spa@bvari.org with any questions about these changes and to coordinate submissions to NIH on their behalf, as applicable.

Research Performance Progress Reports (RPPR)

Only the project director/principal investigator (PD/PI) or their PD/PI delegate can initiate RPPRs. Final submission will be done by BVARI.
